Water Damage Restoration in Houston
Extracted. Dried. Documented.

A supply line, a water heater, a slab leak, a storm. In Houston humidity, wet drywall and carpet pad can start growing mold within 24 to 48 hours, so extraction and drying start the day you call. We work 24 hours a day across Greater Houston.

Before We Arrive

Shut Off the Water. Then Call.

Five things that protect the house and the claim while the crew is on the way.

1

Stop the source

Close the main shutoff. In most Houston homes it sits where the line enters the house or in the meter box near the curb.

2

Cut power to wet rooms

Only if you can reach the breaker panel without standing in water.

3

Photograph first

Wide shots of every wet room and close-ups of the source, before anything is moved or thrown out.

4

Lift what you can

Rugs, electronics, papers and furniture legs off wet floors. Foil or blocks under furniture feet.

5

Skip the household vacuum

It is not rated for water, and no vacuum you own reaches the carpet pad, which is where the water sits.

What We Handle — And What We Don't

Water damage usually involves a plumber, a restoration crew and sometimes a rebuild contractor. Here is who does what, so you know what you are hiring.

We handle

  • Emergency water extraction — standing water and the water held in carpet and pad.
  • Structural drying — air movers and dehumidifiers sized to the rooms that are wet.
  • Moisture mapping — meters on walls, floors and cabinets to find water you cannot see.
  • Removing what cannot be dried — soaked pad, the bottom of wet drywall, swollen baseboards.
  • Flood cleanup — storm and rising water, treated as contaminated water.
  • Claim documentation — daily readings and photographs, and we coordinate with your adjuster.

We do not

  • Repair the pipe. A licensed plumber fixes the leak. We dry what it soaked.
  • Rebuild. New drywall, cabinets, flooring and paint are a general contractor's work. We will say so on the phone rather than after the deposit.
  • Act as your public adjuster. We document what we find and what we did. We do not negotiate your settlement.
Not All Water Is the Same

Clean, Gray or Black. It Changes the Job.

The industry sorts water losses into three categories. The category decides what can be dried in place and what has to come out, and the adjuster will ask which one it was.

Category 1 · Clean

Supply lines, water heaters, a burst pipe. Most materials can be dried in place if work starts fast.

Category 2 · Gray

Washing machine and dishwasher overflows. Carpet pad usually comes out; the structure is cleaned and dried.

Category 3 · Black

Sewage backups and floodwater from outside. Porous materials that it touched are removed, not dried.

Clean water does not stay clean. After a day or two sitting in a warm house, a Category 1 loss is treated as Category 2.

The Process

Dry Is Measured, Not Guessed

1

Inspect

Confirm the source is stopped, find the edges of the wet area with meters, and set the water category.

2

Extract

Pull standing water and as much as possible out of carpet and pad. Every gallon extracted is a gallon the dehumidifiers do not have to.

3

Remove what cannot dry

Saturated pad, the bottom of wet drywall, swollen trim. Photographed before it leaves the house.

4

Dry

Air movers and dehumidifiers placed for the rooms that are wet, and checked every day.

5

Verify

Equipment comes out when the readings say the materials are dry, not on a fixed schedule.

6

Document

Moisture logs and photographs from day one, in the format your carrier expects.

Questions

Houston Water Damage, Answered

How fast can you get to a house in Houston?

We respond 24/7 across Greater Houston. Call the number on this page and you get an honest arrival window on the phone, not a promise we would have to walk back.

Is water damage covered by homeowners insurance in Texas?

A sudden and accidental discharge, such as a supply line that let go or a water heater that failed, is generally covered under a standard Texas homeowners policy. Long-term seepage generally is not. Rising water from a storm or bayou is flood, which needs a separate flood policy. Read your declarations page and photograph everything before anything is moved.

Do I have to use the company my insurance carrier recommends?

No. You choose who works on your home. A carrier may suggest a preferred vendor, but the decision is yours.

How long does drying take?

Most clean-water losses dry in a few days once the equipment is set. We take moisture readings every day and pull the equipment when the materials read dry, not when a calendar says so. Losses that sat for days, or that soaked into hardwood or cabinets, take longer.

Do you fix the leak?

No. A licensed plumber repairs the pipe. We stop the water damage: extraction, drying and documentation. If the leak is not fixed yet, shut off the water at the main and tell us when you call.

What about mold?

Fast drying is what keeps mold from starting. In Houston humidity, wet drywall and carpet pad can begin growing mold within 24 to 48 hours. If mold is already growing, tell us when you call, because it changes the scope of the job. Many homeowners policies include some mold coverage when the mold comes from a covered water loss, often with a dollar limit, so check your policy and photograph the growth before anything is removed.

What does it cost?

It depends on how much area is wet, which category of water it is, what materials soaked it up, and how long it sat. A loss caught the same day almost always costs less than the same loss found a week later. On an insured loss, the claim is documented in the format the carrier expects.
